Reasons for Male Infertility

Male Fertility Problem

This article lists the reasons for male infertility (male fertility problem), with the term for the condition and the definition. The truth is that 30% of couples facing infertility are male factor. Meaning it’s the man that has the problem and not the woman.

  • Asthenospermia is when the sperm move more slowly than normal. Some cases the sperm will not move at all.

  • Azoospermia is when there are no sperm in the semen. More than likely this is due to a blockage.

  • Cryptorchidism is when a testis is not in its normal position in the scrotum. Instead it’s in the abdomen or groin area.

  • Hematospermia means that blood is present in the semen.

  • Hypogonadotropic Hypogonadis is a condition with low levels of the gonadotropins hormones – FSH and LH. This causes a lack of testicular function.

  • Impotence is the inability to achieve a complete or partial erection.

  • Low Sperm Count is the main reason for male infertility or a male fertility problem. Unless the problem is caused by a blockage, it can usually be helped. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies can cause low sperm counts. By figuring out the deficiency a man can usually build the count back up by taking the necessary supplements. A low sperm count can also be traced to use of hot tubs, tight clothing and anything that causes excessive testicular heat.

  • Necrospermia is the presence of dead sperm in the semen.

  • Pyospermia is when white cells are present in semen indicating an infection. It’s hopeful with the use of antibiotics to help this condition.

  • Retrograde Ejaculation is when the semen is blasted back into the bladder instead of out the penis.

  • Sperm Agglutination is when the sperm clump together. This can be helped by taking 1000 mg of vitamin C per day.

  • Testicular Torsion is when the testes twists on themselves and cut off the blood supply.

  • Varicocele Veins is another main reason for male infertility. This happens as a result of a collections of varicose veins in the scrotum. The blood will flow to them instead of to the heart.

There is good news here. Of all the reasons for male infertility or a male fertility problem listed above, most of the conditions are easily treatable these days with the help of medical prescriptions, procedures and even natural supplements.
