Planning a baby shower for a pregnant mom is fun and exciting. If you are the lucky person to get to do this there are two ways to plan. First way is planning a shower with the mom's help. If it's not a surprise to her, she can help with the guest list, make a baby gift registry and have input into the decorating. If this is a surprise to her, she will be touched to have such a caring person to take the time and carry out the plans and events surrounding the shower.

The first thing on the agenda in shower planning is the guest list. Take extra care to include all close friends and family. This is a celebration and mom will want to be surrounded by her friends and family.

Planning A Baby Shower with games

This is an area where you need to find out if the mom-to-be even likes to play such shower games. Some women don't and some do. Have small prizes for however many games you plan to play to give to each winner. If the mom is receptive to fun games here are a few ideas:

Baby Food Taste - Purchase several different jars of baby food and remove the labels, but place a number or letter on the bottom of the jar with a marker and note what flavor it is. Have the guest to take a taste test and write down what each jar contains. The guest(s) with the most correct answers wins.

Clothespins - This is fun, give each guest a clothes pin. Once the pins are passed out have a "keyword" such as baby, cute, adorable - something baby shower related - and if someone says the keyword, they get the clothespin. The person with the most clothespins at the end of the shower wins.

Memory - Place small baby items in a bowl or tin or small box. Take the box around to each guest allowing them time to look at the contents. Pass out a piece of paper and pen and have them write down the contents once you remove them. The person(s) that guesses all - or the most - wins.

Nursery Rhyme - Write out a few lines of nursery rhymes on sheets of paper. Have each guest to guess the rhyme or to finish it.

Toilet Paper - This game has the pregnant mom to stand up and each person gets to "guess" how big her belly is by pulling off a string of toilet paper squares. Once everyone has their toilet paper squares have the mom to wrap the toilet paper around her belly. The person with the number of squares that matches the moms wins.

If you find that you don't have enough "prizes" for these games, you could always place all the "winners" names on a piece of paper - then have a drawing for the prize.
